Shoe Fettish

I made the card featured in this post for a relative of mine who lives nearby a few weeks ago.  She was sweet enough to have my husband and me over for Easter dinner on very short notice. The meal was delicious and I had a great time hearing stories of her younger years in a different time--she’s a fantastic lady! And she loves shoes. Since she downsized her home and no longer collects tiny decorative shoes, I made her a special card with her favorite color purple to thank her for the wonderful Easter memory created that evening that she had us over.

Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 10

Beautiful Butterfly

Babies are such a blessing and there is nothing I enjoy more than celebrating a new arrival!  I made this card for a friend’s baby shower last weekend.  I wanted to go with something a bit different from the usual pink color expected for a precious baby girl.  I love butterflies and discovered that my friend does too. I was thrilled to find out that my design fit into the theme of the shower--down to the color purple.  This design incorporates another love of mine--a bit of sparkle--from a few coordinating colors of glitter. I also created a coordinating gift tag for a gift box given to the Mom-to-be.

Sabrina

Happy Mother's Day!

There is no person as important as my Mom--the one I always wanted to emulate and the one I always listened to (even when I pretended not to during those challenging teen years).  I count my blessings to have such a wonderful example to follow.  Not only for my Mom who gave birth to me but to my beautiful Mother In Law.  I hope that I can one day be as great a Mother as they have been to me. Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Moms-to-be out there and enjoy your memories or special time with your own Mom!
Stay inspired,
Sabrina

Thinking Pink

The Washington DC Avon Walk for Breast Cancer  took place several weekends ago.  It is an event that my Aunt Mary faithfully trains for, fund raises for and participates in every year. She has raised more than $51,000 over the last 12 years and her commitment has never wavered. I am in awe of her dedication to such a wonderful cause... Breast cancer has touched someone close to many of us and I am thankful to those who are sacrificing in order to help eradicate this horrible disease. I made this card for my Aunt who is definitely “in it to end it”.

This Is the Beginning

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Sabrina and I am so excited to begin this journey!

For years, paper crafting and card making have been a passion of mine. Arts and crafts serve as a stress reliever of sorts and a much needed outlet for my creative juices to flow.  For this first blog entry, I would love to introduce myself...
(c) Studio M 633
I am Sabrina, an engineer by training but currently a homemaker and small business owner (Studio M 633 LLC) who loves to do anything crafty. My formal education is in science (BS Chemistry, PhD in Chemical Engineering) where I employ my analytical skills to solve problems. I am equally passionate about creating things out of paper, ink, and even the packaging that purchased items are shipped in. I enjoy creating frames for objects and re-purposing other items to make home decor. From needlepoint to self taught calligraphy to amateur woodworking, I love making things. Card making, however, seems to be my favorite activity.  This blog will highlight some of my designs and hopefully feature creations resulting from some of the inspiration, techniques and challenges I encounter in the very active blogosphere.  Let the adventure begin!

Stay inspired,   Sabrina
