Pleasant Poppies (2)

Hi there! I’m back for a second posting this week. This card is actually very similar to my last post in terms of materials and colors but with a different layout. This card is also a sympathy card for yet another friend who has recently experienced a loss (the third such event in the last few weeks). Again, the sentiment could easily be changed to something else. I am also submitting this card to the current CASual Friday challenge: CFC76: Create a Clean And Simple project using Kraft.

That’s all for now--thanks so much for stopping by!

Stay inspired,

Sabrina

Pleasant Poppies (1)

Hello!  I hope everyone is well--especially those who were in the path of the hurricane the last few days.  Super storm Sandy packed quite a punch! The area where I reside fortunately did not see catastrophic damage like areas both north and south of the region that were hit pretty hard and are still affected by flooding. My prayers go out to all those who have experienced loss due to this storm.

Today’s blog post is another “all Stampin’ Up!” card. I’ve had a little time lately to play with some new goodies that I recently received. This card is actually a sympathy card that I made for a friend but the sentiment could easily be changed to something else. The color scheme was intentionally made to be masculine. The kraft in the color scheme happened to fit the theme for this week’s CASual Friday challenge so I am submitting it to: CFC76: Create a Clean And Simple project using Kraft.  Thanks for dropping by!

Stay inspired,

Sabrina

Baby Boy Sailboat

Hi there!  Today's post features a card I made for a friend's baby shower.  I was inspired by two designers when I created this card.  A youtube card maker (sorry, I cannot remember the name) highlighted the technique of the nested frames and a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator (Jennifer Timko--stampinonthefly.com) featured a paper pieced sailboat as a card focal point.  I used both techniques in the design below and thought it would make a great baby boy shower card or announcement.  Looks like I will have more baby cards to feature as I have a few more friends who are expecting baby boys in the coming months.  How exciting!

Stay inspired,

Sabrina

Papillon Potpourri

Hi again!  I am back with a second entry for the CAS-ual Fridays CFC57 Clear as Day challenge to use vellum or acetate in the design.  This card was also submitted to the Splitcoast Stampers CAS Monday challenge which featured a black and white elegant swim suit as inspiration.  I literally just received a new stash of goodies from Stampin’ Up!© on Monday and began playing right away.  This simple card is the result--I absolutely love butterflies (um, can you tell?) and I could not wait to open the Papillon Potpourri stamp set as well as the coordinating Butterfly punch (not used for this design).

Stay inspired,

Sabrina

Happy Father's Day!

Hi there! Just dropping in to quickly show an easy Father’s Day card I made.  It’s only my second card design using “Stampin’ Up!” products exclusively (well, almost exclusively anyway). In the past, my cards mostly have featured die-cutting and very little stamping. If I did stamp, I would typically only use a large background stamp. Well, I am trying to change that and hope to do so as a new Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  I’m easing into it, but I’ll get there soon.

It’s Father’s Day weekend and I’m counting my blessings for my dad.  He’s the strong silent type but I’ve always admired him for his quiet strength and the security that brought {Love you Daddy!}.  Hope you all enjoy Father’s Day!

Stay inspired,

Sabrina

Beautiful Butterfly

Babies are such a blessing and there is nothing I enjoy more than celebrating a new arrival!  I made this card for a friend’s baby shower last weekend.  I wanted to go with something a bit different from the usual pink color expected for a precious baby girl.  I love butterflies and discovered that my friend does too. I was thrilled to find out that my design fit into the theme of the shower--down to the color purple.  This design incorporates another love of mine--a bit of sparkle--from a few coordinating colors of glitter. I also created a coordinating gift tag for a gift box given to the Mom-to-be.

Stay inspired,
Sabrina

Happy Mother's Day!

There is no person as important as my Mom--the one I always wanted to emulate and the one I always listened to (even when I pretended not to during those challenging teen years).  I count my blessings to have such a wonderful example to follow.  Not only for my Mom who gave birth to me but to my beautiful Mother In Law.  I hope that I can one day be as great a Mother as they have been to me. Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Moms-to-be out there and enjoy your memories or special time with your own Mom!

Sabrina
